Nagoya International Orchid Congress

Lecturer in the Faculty of Biology UGM Dr Endang Semiarti, MS, MSc successfully become the first winner of Nagoya International Orchid Congress (NIOC) Encouraged Award in 2009. Salary and the rest of the scholarship money to study at Japanese also exhausted to pay for research on the orchids.

The award is given on the achievements of research groups in biotechnology anggrek Endang. Endang transfer method to find the genes more easily than has been done by other people, but the frequency of insertion of genes to higher plant cells orchids.

Endang as the first champion, successfully surpass the 159 researchers from 36 countries including Japan, Taiwan, Thailand, Singapore, UK and other European countries. Endang addition, both winners be Dr. Hideki Kondo from Okayama University, Japan, and Dr S Mita third of Shizuoka University.
