AGRICULTURAL PRODUCT TECHNOLOGY

UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAM (BS)
IN FOOD AND AGRICULTURAL PRODUCT TECHNOLOGY


Background

Qualified human resources, specialized in food and agricultural product
technology are needed to support the accelerated development of the nation’s agro
industry. The Department of Food and Agricultural Product Technology (DFAPT) in the
Faculty of Agricultural Technology at Gadjah Mada University shares the responsibility
to fulfill that need. Since 19 september 1963, this department has started the bachelor
of science education program in food and agricultural product technology. Now
approximately 80 new students are admitted out of 1000 high school graduates
applicant every year. Learning process in the DFAPT stresses on the field of food and
agricultural product technology based on aspects of food chemical/biochemical, food
biotechnology, food processing and nutrition. Study objects comprise of livestock,
botanical, crop, fishery, and microbiological products. In the DFAPT, the students are
professionally educated to have high competence in the area of food and agricultural
product technology.
